ReviewWhat a little gem! Its so quiet with just the sound of the birds, its wonderful. Lovely walks around the grounds, loads of WW1 and 2 history around with the gun and searchlight emplacements. Lots of pretty wild flowers that i didn't get round to identifying! The beeches are lovely, we took the dogs down to Angle and Freshwater West when the tide was out at 6am had the beech to our selves! and boy did the dogs make use of it! ( We left our tide table book there as we didn't need it) On arrival we found welsh cakes, a bowl of quality street (diet went out the window!) and a bottle of win in the fridge. It was nicely furnished Sofa and bed was very comfortable and every thing was spotlessly clean. Shops were a fair drive away so we done a few days at a time, there is an Aldi, Lidle, asda and Tesco all down at Pembroke Dock. Aldi is on the main road as you arrive into Pembroke Docks so we dived in there before going onto East Blockhouse. Would i go again........YES i would.

ReviewWe spent a week at Easter at the East Blockhouse and would thoroughly recommend it as a perfect base to explore the southern part of Pembrokeshire. The house itself while not a typical character property is actually exactly what you'd want from a holiday cottage - warm, all the right kitchen bits and pieces and not overlooked, despite the fact there is another similar cottage right by you. There was also a games room, with a 'shop' and DVDs to borrow. The properties are particularly well suited for dogs, with a fenced area that you could feel confident in letting your dog roam. The owners Jennie and Simon were nearby and absolutely perfect hosts and made us feel incredibly welcome. They are very lucky to live in such a gorgeous location. Saying location, the walks from the cottage along the coast are as breathtaking as elsewhere on the Pembrokeshire coastal path. We particularly enjoyed walking down to Angle then around the headland off Thorne Island and then to the Old Point House for a drink and bite to eat. With a bit of driving you can access loads of other brilliant walks, but I can easily imagine hanging out at the Blockhouse for a week, just watching the wildlife, boats and horses (which live on the Blockhouse land). All in all a wonderful place to stay - we'll be back for sure.
Owners ResponseThank you very much for taking the time to write such a wonderful review. We are so pleased that you had a great holiday and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Best Wishes Jennie and Simon

ReviewWe've just returned from a week at Ty Haf and we could't fault the property. We was welcomed with welsh cakes, wine and essentials plus dog treats for our two pooches. The enclosed garden for the dogs was wonderful with no worries about them escaping. The actual property was warm and inviting. 2 lovely bathrooms, one being an en-suite shower room and the other comprising of shower and a deep bath for relaxing in which our 12 year old son took advantage of. The beds were really comfortable as were the sofas. The kitchen area had all mod cons including dishwasher, microwave, toaster and coffee machine with coffee pods included. There was a games room which contained pool table, football table, darts and plenty of toys and games for younger children. There was also an extensive library of books and DVDs. Attached to the games room was the laundry room with washing machine, tumble drier and ironing facilities. There was plenty of washing liquid and softener to use. The village shop is now closed but the was a few essentials and beach toys in the games room with a honesty box for payment. We was lucky with the weather and managed to get to see plenty of beaches including Angle, Tenby, Saundersfoot, Freshwater Bay and Barafundle which is definitely worth the walk along the cliff tops (about 1/2 walk from the NT car park). Would we return?.......absolutely! Would we recommend?.......definitely!! Thank you Jennie and Simon for sharing your lovely property with us x

ReviewI am literally laying in bed in this property as I type, and feel compelled to add my voice to the many others who love it here. This is our second stay at Ty Gaer, and we've also stayed at neighbouring Ty Haf. Both properties are lush! The location is to die for - far from the hustle and bustle of modern life, yet a 10ish minute rural walk to a beautiful beach and cafe; 5 more minutes to the pub. Lovely walking in every direction along the coast path. Every possible convenience provided in the property, and all of excellent quality. Jennie, Simon and their children couldn't be better hosts - really friendly and hospitable. Always there when you need them, and responsive to suggestions, as well as continually making improvements in or around the properties. We've been here in good weather and bad, and always come away feeling revitalised, and ready to rebook! Don't hesitate - you won't be disappointed.
